How does a DUI in Florida affect my insurance?
"The answer is, it depends. Some insurance companies will cancel you, some will raise your rates, some may not do anything at all. The best thing to do is to find out what your insurance company is going to do before you make a decision as to what you’re going to do. If they don’t discover it and they don’t raise your rates, I wouldn’t do anything. If they send you a letter requiring you to get special insurance, then you’re going to have to do that. But you can also shop around for that, it really just depends on your insurance company, what they do, and what they send you."
